Downtown DeLand’s Volusia County Veterans Day Parade is scheduled for Saturday, November 14. The opening ceremony starts at 9:30 a.m. on Indiana Avenue, and the parade begins at 10 a.m. on Woodland Boulevard.

Veterans, military vehicles, marching bands and patriotic floats are part of the advertised procession. Parade entries are open to Volusia County veterans and military-oriented organizations through the organizer’s entry form.

A new Red, White and Blue Bash follows on West Indiana Avenue from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. MainStreet DeLand lists activities including a hot-dog eating contest, pie-baking contest, cornhole and potato-sack races. Families can therefore plan for more than the parade itself. The event page also links to nominations for veterans to be recognized during the ceremony.
